Booru Guidelines
If you're reading this post: congratulations! You've made it further than most people have. Because there's not a way for me, the administrator, to edit the front page or the 'Help' section, the only place I can really make a post like this is here, tucked away in this corner of the site that few users take notice of. But you, the attentive reader, have taken notice! And now that you're here, allow me to acquaint you with -- as the title would imply -- the Booru's guidelines:

===I. SUBJECT MATTER===

// The Zootopia Booru is intended to be a repository for artists of, and affiliated with, the Zootopia General (/ztg/) on 4chan's /trash/ board. Most Zootopia fan art can already be readily found on sites like e621, FurAffinity, DeviantArt, Twitter, Pixiv, and so on. But not all artists of /ztg/ have such a repository, let alone one with a search function like this one. Thus, all of this art is compiled here for your pleasure and convenience.
// Zootopia fan artists who are not directly involved with /ztg/ can still have their art uploaded to the Booru if they so desire to. If you are doing that for someone else, please have their explicit permission, and contact me (or another site admin/moderator) on this forum before doing so.
// No subject matter is disallowed, so long as it's Zootopia fan art and follows the terms of service of booru.org. Please familiarize yourself with said ToS before proceeding: https://booru.org/tos

===II. UPLOADING===

// Please do not upload images with the intent of self-promotion. Said images will be deleted, and your account will be banned if you do it a second time.
// Make sure that you're not uploading a duplicate! The Booru will, if the image is a perfect match, deny uploading a duplicate file. However, it will not do this if it is a different format, size, etc. Therefore, it's important that you make an effort to search the Booru to ensure that it hasn't been uploaded already. Search for relevant tags like characters, species, or objects-- if it doesn't return any results, you may very well be in the clear and can proceed with uploading.
// If you have a higher resolution copy of an image already on the Booru, you can probably disregard the above. The higher resolution copy should almost always have higher priority, if it's the image's original resolution.
// If an image's source is external to the 4chan threads, please specify the exact source URL (e.g. the original post on Twitter, FurAffinity, etc.) in the 'Source' section of the 'Add' page, or while editing a post.
// Mass uploading is fair game, so long as you are willing to properly tag everything. Don't just leave that work for somebody else to do! Believe me, it's a lot of work and a bit headache-inducing! That also leads us into the third category:

===III. TAGGING===

// There is, admittedly, no exact rules as to how the tagging system works. This Booru's tagging system is very basic compared to a site like e621, and the resulting system here is a bit of a hodgepodge of decisions that didn't come all at once.
// The artist's name should be prefixed with 'artist:' -- if the image also has a coloring credit, it should be prefixed with 'colored_by:' any character's name should be prefixed with 'character:', and their full name be used if applicable; and any species name should be prefixed with 'species:'. Images with only one character should get the 'solo' tag; original characters should get the 'oc' tag; and personal characters (a.k.a. 'Zoosonas') should get this and the 'zoosona' tag... and so on.
// From here on, you should just abide by the 'tag what you see' rule. For how to go about doing this, the best advice I can really offer is to look around the Booru for relevant objects/situations/etc. and acquaint yourself with the nomenclature used.
// Ultimately, you should just try your best when it comes to this. If you do not get everything right, that's perfectly okay! I can't really expect anyone starting out to understand a system even I don't fully understand.

===IV. DELETIONS===

// You may very well come across a duplicate on the Booru if you spend enough time on it. If this happens, remember these two points: if the two images are identical in resolution, then the oldest one of the two will be deleted; but if one of them is a higher resolution, then the lower resolution copy will always be deleted, regardless of its age.
// Only moderators and administrators have the ability to delete images. If you are a regular user, please mark duplicates you see by leaving a comment on the offending image that includes a link to the other image. I, or another user with deletion privileges, will then delete it.

And that's about it, really. Thank you for taking the time to acquaint yourself with these guidelines, and I hope that you have a terrific time with me taking the time to archive fanart for a years-old iPhone commercial made by a community on a Cambodian basket-weaving forum!
